She can’t take her eyes off of Silver Wolf, and wonders what it would be like to live with a Lenape Indian family on his ancestral plantation?

In the 18th Century this simply isn’t done by any decent Quaker woman, even if a war is waging all around them. Yet, Sarah has lost her heart to this dark-eyed savage who has his own reasons for hating all whites.

If she follows her desire what will happen to her prior life in the 21st Century? This fear haunts her every move and influences each decision she makes.

Biography

Books keep giving, while we read them, when we recall them, when we discuss them, when we share them, and, in quiet moments, when we think about the characters, the story, and the ideas presented in them. Although not a text book, authors of fiction present information to a reader via new concepts, possibilities and situations. Each teller of tales wants to share their "world" with the reader.

A book has always been my escape. Our public library, above the Fire Hall, contained a limited amount of reading material of interest to a child, so after finishing books for my age group, I was allowed into the adult area. WOW! One day I discovered FOREVER AMBER. For the time, a very risque book. Fortunately, my mother believed reading promoted thinking and permitted me to read almost anything. All types of history and biographies of famous people--particular women--became my favorites.

I love watching, listening and observing people. Where they live, what they do or don't do, who their friends are and why. Their actions and ideas become fodder for writing and developing characters. Every new place one visits, every person one meets, and every situation one experiences is gathered together to create a book.

I am a member and former president of the Florida Chapter of Sisters in Crime, part of the national Sisters in Crime. I enjoy teaching courses at the University of Northern Florida on writing. Sharing knowledge and watching new authors develop is exciting and fun. Please join us on Facebook at Janet Cooper Author.

A little bit more about me

Why I write as Janet Cooper instead of Janet Kuchler. First, the latter name is very hard to pronounce and second, when most books were purchased in Book Stores, K was always on the bottom shelf. That’s it!

Now as to why I chose Historical Romances. I, like most women, enjoy love stories and we want happy endings. Perhaps because our lives are full of uncertainties and things we can’t control, we count on these books to deliver an enjoyable story with twists and turns, positives and negatives, but in the end, loves conquers all. Well, that explains the second word but why historical. Having double majored in college—library science and history, with particular emphasis on U.S.—the timing/backdrop had to be America.

After writing three of these, I found myself wanting more mystery to my stories. Since my books are short something had to go, so there is a little less romance. However, in each one of them a love story or two happen. Now for the reason for the contemporary setting: we had moved from the Philadelphia area to near Beaufort, S.C. the Lowcountry. Yes, we combine the two words. Perhaps the founders wanted to distinguish ourselves from the Netherlands. Who knows? fell in love with the marshes, the smell of salt-water, the flora, the animals, the rapidly rushing rivers and creeks. The area seemed the perfect location for murders.
